Wyoming Board of Funeral Service Practitioners

The Board of Embalming was created in 1915 to protect the welfare of the citizens of Wyoming by regulating the practice of embalmers and funeral directors. wyoming Legislature changed the name of the board to the Board of Funeral Service Practitioners in 2014 and allowed for elimination of regulation of the funeral diretor, making all those licensed to practice funeral service "funeral service practitioners." The Board operations are fully supported by fees established and collected and relies on no General Fund monies. The Board's administrative services are provided by the Department of Administration and Information Professional Licensing Boards.

The Wyoming Board of Funeral Service Practitioners is legislatively mandated to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Wyoming by ensuring that those individuals licensed to provide funeral services in this state are appropriately qualified.
